More than a little confusion is surfacing over who is authorized to take donations for a private prom in Itawamba County, reports The New York Times . The Mississippi Safe Schools Coaliton is organizing a May 8 private prom in the wake of a controversy caused by Constance McMillen’s desire to take her girlfriend to her high school prom, which the school promptly canceled.
