Brooke Shields believes she has finally found happiness, now that she and her lesbian partner (Cherry Jones) have a child. But when Jones passes away five years later and her scheming parents apply for custody behind Shields’ back, an affecting struggle ensues.

Clearly this wasn’t the right time for Sandy to bring up the “let’s have a baby” conversation.
The writers cld have fixed this by gving them a cutesy conversation.

there must be a 100 ways to say, “Oh, Sandy — get a dog, get a cat…etc.” She could have said her lines in a more understanding way……
(If she says her lines ‘too mean’ is that her fault or the director’s fault? I don’t know becz I didn’t take ‘drama’ in High School.)

There is Cherry writhing, perspiring, suffering in agony on a hospital gurney and there is Brooke Shields — , looking cool, calm and collected smartly attired in crisp navy blue hospital scrubs as she attempts to look concerned at CJs agony. Brooke Shields cannot act & it must hv really irked Cherry Jones tht she was left to carry this after-school TV special alone.
