What causes people who are gay and lesbian to develop that orientation,do you think there will ever be a cure to homosexuality?

The Karolinska Institute did a study of 11,000 identical twins to study this issue. Their conclusion was that it is caused by environment in some cases and is inborn in other cases so it is a “mixed bag”. Although therapy might change the behavior of someone I doubt there will ever be a “cure” but there might be some kind of prevention for it someday.

being homosexual is not a disease and there is no cure.
Its just being attracted to the same sex its not wrong and its just psychological its like asking why are you attracted to the opposite sex.You do realize we just animals on earth like other beings (and yes animals also engage in homosexual activity - lions and lions )

It is as innate as our eye color or skin color. It doesn’t need a cure because it is not a sickness. Years ago before we understood the biology of it, it was listed in the DSM as a disorder, but as medical and scientific studies were performed, it has been found to be genetic. Thus the last two additions of the DSM (III and IV) have not listed it as a disorder. So for the last 30-40 years, it has been psychologically and biologically understood as a variation of the norm.
Homophobia (illogical fear of gay people), which IS a disorder among the phobias has not gone away however.

Why would you want a cure for homosexuality? That’s like me telling people is there a cure for straightness. Usually some people are born with it and others like me and my girlfriend didn’t figure it out til we were about 9. Now we are teenagers and and still lesbians. Nothing will ever change.
